History
The history of the Reformed Congregation of Oostkapelle begins in 1900.
On 7 March 1900, the congregation is organised by the Rev D. Janse. Theme of the sermon is Psalm 84 : 9: ‘Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.’

Reformed Congregation
Our congregation belongs to the denomination of the Reformed Congregations. This denomination has about 151 congregations in our country. There are nearly 107,000 members in total. The Reformed Congregation Oostkapelle is organised on 7 March 1900 and its membership as of 1 January 2024 consists of 704 (full and baptised) members.
Ledeboerian regional congregation
From the beginning, Oostkapelle has been a regional Ledeboerian congregation and had members in Vrouwenpolder, Grijpskerke, Serooskerke and Oostkapelle. In 1907, Oostkapelle joined the union between the Cross Congregations and the Ledeboerians and it becomes a reformed congregation. Starting from 150 members, the congregation grows to about 700 members in a century. In the course of the years there are several conversions as well as a new building. In 1911, the church was extended. A gallery was built in 1925. In conjunction with Aagtekerke, the first pastor, Rev A.C. Visser, arrives in 1937. In 1955, side wings were added. And in 1976, an extra room is added.
